A Summer Engagement Session at Pinnacle Overlook | Lindsey + Taylor

Lindsey + Taylor Engaged-17.jpg

In a world of instant message and text-like emails, Lindsey’s emails are always a breath of fresh air. I recently had a talk with my oldest son about Lindsey’s emails. It went something like this:

Me: Back in MY DAY the use of everyday email was just beginning when I went to college. Emails were more-or-less a formal letter but in digital form. We took time and care to put the words together and read over it before hitting send. Some real time and thought went into them.

Andrew: Really? I don’t really email people very often so when I do, I kind of do the same thing…try to make it read well.

Me: GOOD! That will make you stand out in a sea of rushed and pushy communication. I just got an email from one of my brides today, Lindsey. Every time I get an email from her it makes me stop and read it…like really read it. You can FEEL the thought that went into the words. She inquires into my personal well-being and you guys and there is a solid beginning, middle and closing. She adds paragraphs and uses adult vocabulary….which is hard to come by these days! And, you can tell that she really cares because she takes the time to do all these things.

Andrew: Nice.

Me: Yeah! It IS nice. It’s simple things like writing a thoughtful email that will make you stand out in the crowd. Its about making other people feel special and seen…showing you care. It doesn’t take much but it makes a WORLD of difference to that one person. Lindsey not only writes thoughtful emails but she also likes and comments on my posts and stories on Instagram. I know that may seem small but it SHOWS me that she is following and cares about me and my business…not only her own pictures. Every like and comment helps me and it only takes a second to hit that button or double tap even. SHE takes the time. Be the kind of person to double tap. Take those extra moments to make people feel seen and appreciated.

Andrew: Mmm (nodding his head)

Simple but true. And I ADORE Lindsey and Taylor for it. I singled Lindsey out here but Taylor is the same way. After their INCREDIBLE Pinnacle Overlook engagement session, TAYLOR even took the time to text me to thank me for a wonderful experience. Those small things make a HUGE difference to the recipient. I was on cloud nine after he sent that. Lindsey even baked COOKIES for my family. YES, SHE IS A REAL PERSON. She is everything my mom brought me up trying to get me to do when I was younger and the perfect example of just what my mom was always hoping I would be like when I grew up.

Lindsey and Taylor, I know I already posted these pictures in a slideshow and I already delivered your full gallery…really, I was buying myself more time to think of the perfect words to say in your blog post. I wanted to give you as much thought as you have given to me over the past few months. I hope you know just how honored I am to know you and to be your photographer. You have touched me and my family in such a sweet way already. Thank you for sharing your thoughtfulness with us. I’m so grateful to have you are part of the family. I already know you LOVE your photos because you were kind enough to tell me so many times but I really and truly and so very honestly CANNOT WAIT for your wedding day. You will be together for close to 9 years on your wedding day at The Barn at Stoneybrooke!!! WOW. Just Wow. I can’t wait to celebrate with you! Take care of yourselves and I’ll see you in May!

XO - Megan
