A Fun, Summer Vow Renewal at The Barn at Stoneybrooke | Jamie + Chris | 8-27-2021
“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while and leave footprints on our heart, and we are never, ever the same.”
I feel like I’ve been through Hell and high water in life with Jamie and Chris. Some might go through the same life situations and feel burnt or jaded from some of it. For us, nah. We just got stronger and more appreciative of what we have through it all together.
- We had drenching rain at their State College engagement session…but the sun shone for the end.
- Covid struck at just the wrong time for their original wedding….and again for their rescheduled date….and they got married anyway in their backyard with smiles and laughter.
- I showed up for them at their ceremony against popular opinion (and probably rational thought) and got blasted from the wedding industry at large…and came out stronger and more confident in the end.
- Covid mandates kept them home…so they started a business to help empower others. Good Label Project
- Cancer, what?!?…they sent gifts of support and love…and I was able to be there for them this weekend even though I was sure when I found out I would have to bow out of the rest of my weddings for the year…including theirs.
You see, when there is positive energy within a person, they attract it back to and spread it to those around them like wildfire. Jamie and Chris are that energy for me. It burns within them, brighter when they are together, and they freely spread it to all they know…and anyone in need. Whenever I’ve been in need of a boost, somehow Jamie always knows and finds a way to breath life…Chris always right there in support with her.
I am so blessed to have these humans in my life. They are forever a part of my family and I love them dearly. They exemplify so many attributes I admire: determination, intelligence, confidence, wild ambition, spirit, heart. Ok, okay. This is starting to sound really corny but seriously, they are basically perfect. Even Stu, Jamie’s dad, a guy always with a joke and a laugh struggled to roast his little girl during his speech.
Speaking of speeches, Marx Event Group and I agree, they hit the trifecta of speeches at this party. It’s rare to have entertaining, heartfelt, funny speeches from ALL of the selected speakers. This night, each one brought their A-game and had us all on the edge of our seats roaring with laughter. I could barely hold back the tears of laughter while I was shooting.
We may have moved inside due to a chance of rain/heat index but it truly was as perfect of a day as anyone could possibly hope for…as perfect as Jamie and Chris themselves. I’m so happy that after all this time we finally got to celebrate this beautiful union of sunshine souls. I’m so grateful I could be there with them.
Jamie and Chris, goodness. I just love you two so much I can hardly put it into words. Your friendship over the last few years has meant more to me than you could ever possibly know. Thank you for choosing me to be your photographer and friend. I can’t wait to watch you two take over the world together. It will be a much better place with you at the reins. I hope you love this little sample of photos from your celebration day. And, well, you know the drill…there will be a surprise in your inbox later today. Enjoy the sunshine and Aloha from home! LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!
