An Old City, Philadelphia Engagement Session | Alexandra + Jonathan | 8-24-2021
Obsessed with them is a severe understatement. These two have been on my books for over 21 months and I FINALLY got to photograph them in their home neighborhood: Old City Philadelphia.
It was worth the wait.
The ability to add their 13 month old Havapoo pup to the shoot was the icing on the cake. Little Ceili and I hit it off right away. It’s a good thing she only came along for the first 20 minutes or so or they might just have had an engagement session gallery of mostly their dog. Plus, with passersby stopping us to ask about her every 30 seconds, we may never have made it to our destinations.
Like many city shoots, I let Alexandra and Jonathan take the lead to show me their favorite spots while I make lighting decisions, try not to get hit by cars, and stop in random places with good light along the way.
When Alexandra said she new a few places that were “my style” I was intrigued. She was right, of course. This girl is crazy smart and thoughtful to boot. I literally squealed in delight when we walked up to the Merchants’ Exchange Building. We could have completed their entire session right there but the fun was ongoing as we walked only a few blocks around their apartment, documenting this first home and little family of theirs.
Alexandra and Jonathan will be married at The Barn at Stoneybrooke this November and I’m so glad I don’t have to wait so long to see them again this time. After spending the evening with them yesterday, they have fast become a favorite couple. I cannot wait to meet all of their people on their special day.
Alex and Jon, WHAT A DAY! I adore you two to pieces and think the world of you both. Ceili is so lucky to have you as her dog-parents. Your wedding day is going to be so much fun. I can’t wait to photograph you again…Alex, with your effortless posing and Jon, those HUGS!!! I hope you love this little sample of your photos from last night as much has I do.
