April Blooms at The Barn at Stoneybrooke | Jaclyn + Eric | 4.17.21

Jaclyn + Eric Wedding Highlights-126.jpg

It was time for the vows. Michael pulled sheets of paper from his officiant folder and handed them to Jackie and Eric. The intimate gathering of guests settled in to hear what these two incredibly intelligent, individuals had written for each other. They’ve written countless papers…maybe even a dissertation or two….but this was different. These were the vows they would make to each other. These words would be their commitment to each other for the rest of their lives, spoken in front of a handful of the most special people to their hearts.

Gently holding the papers that blew in the wind atop the stunning view at The Barn at Stoneybrooke’s pergola outdoor ceremony space Jackie and Eric smiled at each other and, instead of turning towards each other, they turned towards their guests and hand-in-hand read the vows they wrote together as a commitment to not just each other but to everyone present. They promised to be kind. They promised understanding. They promised support. Not only did they promise these very general words but they also defined what those words meant to each of them and how they could make them actionable in their real lives. These words were thoughtful and from deep in their hearts.

One of the things I love the most about Jackie and Eric is their ability to both comprehend the significance of a moment but also not to take anything too seriously…because what kind of a life is it if you’re not having fun. And, they certainly know how to have fun.

Their micro wedding day, went superbly. As much as they wished everyone they love and hold dear could have been there to celebrate with them, they were able to enjoy those that could be there and you could feel the love radiating in from afar as others wished them well. There were games and fun and I am honored I was able to be part of this day with such amazing people.
