Spring Love in Lancaster, PA | Erica + Dan Engaged | April 2, 2023
Do you see that dip in the hills? Dan cocked his head to the side, closed one eye and pointed to the spot with his left hand and continued, “Right there near the closest tower…”
Erica continued for him, “ We just bought a house right on the other side of that ridge. We close in May!”
Now, you have to realize, I have taken countless couples to this location for their engagement photos. Not a single one has ever had something so meaningful attached to the spot. It took me off guard for some reason and I stammered asking, “Are you going to, to live there?” I don’t know why the thought was so strange to me. I was picturing such a beautiful location for an investment property to rent as an Air B&B or something.
Erica chuckled at me, “Yes…to live there.” I apologized for the comment and congratulated them on such a huge step in their journey together. Then, the realization that we were going to have the opportunity to take some of their engagement photos with their new house in the background made my whole being smile as I continued to shoot.
I was so happy for them to have such meaning in these visual representations of their feelings we were creating together. Erica and Dan are kind and sweet. They’re the kind of people who laugh and smile easily, are open to conversation and not afraid to share their lives with those who care. Sometimes you have to have been through some storms to appreciate the sunshine. On this day, we all soaked in the sunshine and reveled in it’s glory. I’m so glad I get to be the one to capture this amazing season of their lives.
Erica and Dan will be married at The Cork Factory Hotel in October 2023. If their friends and family are anything like them, we are going to have an incredible day.
Erica and Dan, I truly couldn’t be happier that the stars aligned and, well, that Erica accidentally sent that message revealing herself. Some things are meant to be and you two obviously are. You are a perfect fit. Thank you for your trust in me with location and shoe choices…and in being your wedding photographer. I had the best time with you two. I hope you enjoy this little sample of photos from your spring engagement session on Sunday. And, because I know how hard it is to wait, there will be a surprise in your inbox later today. So, don’t forget to check!
