A Fall Wedding at Chestnut Hill Villa | Emily + Nathan 10.12.19
Manheim, PAI was already as booked as I wanted to be for 2019 when Emily’s contact form hit my email. I think I had just said to my husband, “I’m not booking ANY more weddings for 2019!” I read the date on the contact form and knew I had a wedding already the day before and THREE the weekend prior….this was out of the question.
Then I read more: Chestnut Hill Villa. It is literally 5 minutes from my house and I’ve always wanted to shoot there. I drive past it every day on my way to the gym. Then I read more: an elegant theme with the venue decorated with rich colored flowers, gold, lace and pearls balanced with food trucks for dinner. SAY WHAT!?!?!? PEARLS and FOOD TRUCKS FOR DINNER!?!?!?!? Ok, consider my attention caught. This would be a different kind of wedding so that’s fun.
Reading on: the wedding photographer they had previously booked was now due to have her baby just a few weeks around their wedding date so they decided to try to book with someone else. My heart ached for them! After planning so far in advance and then having to make a new plan for such an important part of the wedding day…that’s so hard!
And lastly, Emily wrote: Please respond via email. Okay, I LOVE her already and must meet them!!!!
We met for coffee and Emily, Nathan and I talked in intricate detail of the order of events and every last detail as I took them through a typical wedding day with me. Emily was 100% a detail-oriented bride with a *slight* tendency to over think things which made me giggle. It was evident that Nathan normally helps calm her nerves but this wedding planning stuff was out of his usual game strategy. Telling Emily that everything would be fine just wasn't going to cut it. I could also tell straight off the cuff that they have truly kind hearts and I wanted to help….so I said YES! And, here we are now. After ALL of Emily’s planning, charts, meetings and emails their day was perfect. The pearls we beautiful. The florals (arranged by Nathan’s dad) were colorful and fabulous. And, the food trucks were amazing! Guests laughed and mingled throughout the property playing lawn games and eating. Just as the sun set, the Penny’s Ice Cream truck pulled in and maintained a long line all night. The dance floor was hot and the bon fire felt warm and cozy on a cool October evening. I am still in awe of Emily’s ability to think through every detail.
Emily and Nathan, I am SO glad you contacted me and even more happy that I said yes. Sometimes it’s just meant to be. I truly feel that it was. I had so much fun planning your wonderful wedding day with you for the past 8 months and even more fun getting to know you. I hope you LOVE this sample of my favorites to tell the story of your wedding day. And, because I know how hard it is to wait, there is a surprise in your inbox RIGHT NOW so go check! XO – Megan
