A Fall Blush and Blue Destination Wedding at The Cork Factory Hotel | Brittany + Joseph 10.12.19
Lancaster, PA
“She can’t open her gift until after the ceremony!” Ummmmmmm. Okay. This was one I had never heard before. After-the-fact it makes total sense. Joe had his vows to Brittany professionally printed and framed for her (there’s actually a really funny story behind this so if you know Joe….ask him to tell you!) In his vows Joe professed his love for Brittany in front of a room full of family and friends but he also admitted to wanting 2 (or 8) kids! Everyone laughed, but in all honesty, they’re going to make amazing parents one day. Joe and Brittany have been collecting books and toys for their future family for years during their many travels around the world. It was nice to hear Joe be the one to say it too because, let’s be real, he’s going to make the world’s best stay-at-home dad one day!
Travel is incredibly important to Brittany and Joe and for that reason, it was the theme of their destination wedding (home) to Lancaster County, PA to the Cork Factory Hotel. That’s right! They traveled over 800 miles from St. Louis, Missouri to get married near their family. Brittany travels so often that she even brought her passport with her for me to photograph with the details! And, with all of our busy schedules, when it came to their engagement session, me flying to St. Louis made the most sense for all of us! It almost didn’t happen due to a flight delay but I rented an (Enterprise!) car and drove from Chicago airport to their home in St. Louis making it just in time. What you don’t know about that trip was that they treated me to tacos afterwards and are now my favorite couple. Just kidding (but seriously). Tacos or not, I love them. I love them for their witty, sarcastic humor. I love Brittany for her ability to put makeup on in the car. I love Joe for his dedication to his workouts (he ran the morning of his wedding day! What!). I love them for the way they poke fun and compete with at each other. But mostly, I love them for the way they love the people in their lives…their thoughtfulness. Most of the many details thought out for their wedding day had to do with the comfort and well-being of their guests and Brittany still managed to look like a princess through it all. Side note: she also wore her Michael Kors heels until 10:00pm…I am in awe. From venue location to dinner choices, Brittany and Joe considered every single guest in attendance and we are all lucky to know them.
This beautiful day was embraced with perfect weather and service second to none. Live music from 3 West Productions was like icing on a very beautiful cake and I enjoyed meeting everyone.
