A Lancaster, PA Summer Wedding | Kara Ann + Bill 8.31.19

They stood clutching their letters. Their family looked on. The sun shone down on this beautiful Lancaster, PA summer day. It was THEIR day. On the table between them was a wooden box. Inside the box was a bottle of wine. Reverend Kelly explained to the audience that Kara Ann and Bill had written love letters to each other. Neither one had showed the other yet. Instead of reading the letter to each other in front of family and friends, they each placed their unopened letter in the box and sealed it. Their instruction was only to open the box on their anniversary OR in a situation where their relationship was in great peril to remind them of how they truly feel about each other. After sealing their love in that box, they sealed their marriage with a kiss and they were man and wife.

Family was the theme of the day. From the close sibling bonds to the donations to Alzheimer Association, Pancreatic Cancer Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society and Wounded Warriors in lieu of favors to honor their loved ones. Daddy and Daughter tore up the dance floor at the end of the night and sisters cried tears of joy together. Kara Ann and Bill have a family many dream of. They don’t take it for granted. The entire group is full of love and laughter. They vacation together, laugh together and enjoy life together as just that…family. I remember in their engagement session, Kara Ann and Bill requested a shot at the top of the Susquehanna overlook with both the old and the new bridges in view. The old bridge was built when Kara’s grandfather was 10 years old and the new bridge was built when her father was 10. Now they even have a cabin down by the water where they continue to enjoy each other’s company to this day. Their lives are steeped in tradition,  colored with laughter and seasoned now with the added family members on both sides. Boy are they a lucky group of people to have each other.

Kara Ann and Bill, how lucky we were to have found each other! I am so honored to have been a part of your beautiful day. I felt like I was part of your family all day long. Your gorgeous venue really was the perfect fit for you. I loved how you all spent 2 days prior enjoying it and each other (thanks for the invite!). I can’t wait to watch you grow as humans and as a couple together. Your kind hears are sure to spread good throughout the world and I am honored to know you. I hope you enjoy this sample of photos from your wedding day. And, because I know how hard it is to wait, there is a surprise in your inbox RIGHT NOW so go check (once you have good service on your honeymoon 😉).

XO – Megan
