She stood quietly to the side of the meticulously decorated Stone Mill Inn bridal suite. It was her wedding day, the day she had been waiting for her entire life. Her bridesmaids hurried around dressing themselves for the big event. Her head was bowed. Her white veil softly brushed side to side on her silk robe as she slowly read each and every letter from her bridesmaids....her best friends. There was a gentle fragrance of potpourri in the air as I experienced it all with them. Every few minutes she would burst out laughing, her eyes twinkling reading a sentence out loud in approval. The whole group would laugh. Then Caitlin would turn to me to explain so that I could laugh too. It was a day of inside jokes and nicknames along with the love and tenderness of marriage. The bridal party’s rich traditions of sorority and fraternity seasoned the day.

They were a joyful and lively group with bonds so deep nothing could possibly tear them apart. The weather….perfect. They had a cool and crisp morning seeming to call for the coming autumn. It turned into the warm comfort of late summer by afternoon. I had heard of the beautiful grounds at Stone Mill Inn and they didn’t disappoint. There was beauty to behold in every nook and cranny of the entire estate. To be on those grounds breathing deep the clean air felt like a gift.

Caitlin and Devon were married in the woods under the twisted vines of an arbor made from the lumber of the very same grounds. The light danced over them and the wind tickled the trees as Caitlin and Devon proclaimed their love and devotion in front of their closest family and friends. The weather was so perfect that their previously planned inside reception moved mostly outdoors to celebrate. Luckily ProVolve Entertainment was well enough prepared to have speakers in both locations for the guests to enjoy. The service was a cut above and every guest wore a smile that night.

Caitlin and Devon, from your engagement session to your wedding day, your beautiful personalities shined through. The way you stay true to who you are as people and as a couple no matter what the circumstances is something I always wished I was better at. I truly admire you. From your love of music to your adorable pup, you are so special and I am incredibly happy for you to be now married. Devon, I have to say. I have never had a groom dislike having his picture taken so much and yet play along with me so well as you have. Thank you for trusting me. The way you two look at each other speaks volumes.
