Janelle + Dave’s Spring Wind in the Willows Wedding Day

Janelle and Dave’s wedding day was saturated in emotion ranging from real hearty belly laughter to sobbing cries of joy. Janelle told me a month before, “I’m going to bawl my eyes out.” What she didn’t prepare me for was everyone else bawling their eyes out along with her!

Wind in the Willows was the venue of Janelle and Dave’s dreams with their large pond and gorgeous willow trees by the water accented beautifully in the teal and grey of their wedding party. During the ceremony by the pond, Janelle surprised Dave again (there were 5 surprises for him in all). After the two of them exchanged “repeat after me” vows, Janelle turned to Dave’s daughter, Lola, and said her own written vows to her promising to always be there to tuck her in a night and to care for her always. She thanked Lola for sharing her daddy with her…and EVERYONE cried. I’d like to say I kept my cool but I was sobbing along with everyone else…including Lola. To top it off, LOLA surprised BOTH with her own speech granting her blessing of their marriage. I’ve never met a 7-year-old with such zest for life coupled with maturity and grace. She is something to behold.

All-in-all it was a fantastic way to kick off my 2019 wedding season and I hope you enjoy this sample of photos from their wedding day.

Janelle and Dave, we’ve been getting to know each other for the last 18 months. After meeting at Giant in Elizabethtown because our original meeting location was closed on a Sunday, you told me that you two got in the car, looked at each other and said, “Well, we found our wedding photographer!” What I didn’t tell you was that I thought to myself, “Well, I just found a couple of lifelong friends.” Dave’s quirky humor combined with his enormous heart and calm pares perfectly with Janelle’s zeal for fun and constant thoughtfulness for those she loves. I’ve never seen a bride go to such lengths to ensure her groom enjoys HIS day. We share a love of self-help quotes and strong women figures and I adore you Janelle. You were such a beautiful bride and I hope your wedding day was the day of your dreams because you deserve it. You are so good to Dave and to Lola. You ALL are lucky to have each other.
