Micaiah’s dad volunteered the job of marrying them. Darryl stood tall as his son took his place next to him to wait for his bride. They were all smiles as she came into view. There may have been a joke or two poked between father and son as Kerri walked towards them on her father’s arm. Kerri’s father, Ron, had a few words for Micaiah before he kissed his daughter’s forehead one last time and gave her hand to her fiancé to be married. (I would love to know what he said) Darryl took one deep breath and began to welcome everyone to his son’s wedding….and his voice cracked. I’ll never forget how he laughed as the tears fell and he said, “Well now, this isn’t going to work very well, is it?” He pulled it together and performed their ceremony beautifully. Everyone cried at some point of the ceremony. Even me. It was as beautiful as the stunning backdrop of Lakefield Farm.

The Schlichers, as it turns out, love to laugh. They laughed ALL. DAY. LONG. It was fantastic. As it happens, they laugh for two reasons: 1. They are incredibly joyful people and 2. To break the tension when things get emotional. On this day there weren’t enough jokes even for the Schlichers. If they weren’t laughing, they were crying tears of joy. I’m pretty certain not a single Schlicher (or Ressler) eye was able to stay dry all day. Oh, it was wonderful! The love. The joy! Kerry and Micaiah are so loved.

The day went off without a single hitch. Every part of the day was early. EARLY! What?!?!?! That’s what happens when all the vendors work together seamlessly. 💖 Yes, and, Kerri and Micaiah had THREE opportunities for portraits (I LOVE you TWO!!!!) They had a first look with portraits to follow, husband and wife portraits immediately following their ceremony AND added 2 hours so that they could go out with me for sunset portraits at the end of the night before their send-off. Their gallery is going to be AH – MAZING! It was an incredible pleasure to meet and get to know their family and friends and spend the day with them on their best day EVER!

Kerri and Micaiah, it has been amazing getting to know you two. I love your fun-loving spirits and how you seem to attract such bright personalities. Everyone you know seems to have this bright energy about them that is so easy to love. I’m so glad you asked me to be your photographer to share in your wedding day.
