Miller + Crawford Autumn The Barn at Stoneybrooke Wedding

The plan was to meet at Longwood Gardens for their engagement session. I got there quite early and had time to go in to walk around. That’s when I saw it…the sign….it said SOLD OUT. The timed tickets for the day were sold out on their engagement session day! Noooooooooo! I sat down on a bench to think of a Plan B. It was an hour and a half drive for me so I wasn’t familiar with the area to suggest an alternate location. I spotted Kelsey’s beautiful red hair first. To my surprise she was with her Mom, Linda, not Zac. They greeted me all smiles and huge hugs. That’s when I broke the news to them. Linda just smiled even bigger and said, “I know! Don’t worry. I have a plan!” From that moment on, I found that Linda always has a plan (and a plan B) and is always prepared…and I love her just as much as I love Kelsey and Zac. She bought Kelsey a membership to the gardens which came with two complimentary tickets. One for me and one for Zac who met us moments later. Linda wished everyone well but before she left she said, even if we had to do Kelsey and Zac’s engagement session in a random field somewhere, she knew the photos would be great. And, that’s what I love so much about my couples (and their families). While we try to come up with spectacular locations whenever possible, they trust me that I can make the magic happen anywhere.

Their wedding day didn’t have any snags in the plan like their engagement session. Even with the tightest timeline I have ever followed, everything went exactly as planned. That only happens when the teamwork behind the scenes is on point. I have so many of my fellow vendors to thank for the fluidity of the day. Please see the full list at the bottom of this post! Kelsey’s dress was something out of a fairytale. In its full glory, it flowed like silk in the wind. Bustled, it twirled like Belle in the ballroom. It was a perfect day. After dating for 10 years, these high school sweethearts tied the knot and made the first step in their love legacy. I have a feeling their love story is going to be a good one to watch over the years. (They recently became puppy parents! Their first fail at being puppy foster parents which I LOVE.)

Kelsey and Zac, thank you for trusting me when I was in the early stages of building my wedding portfolio. I have enjoyed every moment of getting to know you two and hearing your story. I wish you all the joy in your marriage and send all my love to your beautiful family. I hope you enjoy this sample of my favorites from your day. Your full gallery will be in your inbox in a few weeks. Until then, because I know it is so hard to wait, there are some surprises in your inbox RIGHT NOW. So, go check your email!!!!
