Shades of Blush Studios Lancaster City Fashion Shoot
I’m a people person. I LOVE people and can get along with and work with almost anyone. Every once in a while, there comes along that special group of people where EVERYTHING clicks. Their personality. Their style. Their take on life. Their work ethics. Everything. That’s Andrea from Shades of Blush Studios and Whitney from WB Upstyles for me. When Andrea messaged and started with, “I have an idea for a shoot…” I said, “Yes!” I didn’t even have to hear the full idea before knowing it would be amazing. THEN she added, “Maybe Whitney would be able to fit our model in for a hairstyle.” Once Whitney was in, that was it. I knew magic was happening. And it did….Our model, Kenzie, had makeup created by, of course, Andrea of Shades of Blush Studios. Her hair was styled by Whitney of WB Upstyles out of Luxe Salon Lancaster/Lititz. Her cute outfits were selected by Andrea and then provided by Lola’s Boutique in Oxford.
Andrea chose Lancaster City as the location (Thank you Lancaster Cupcake for letting us take over the place for 10 minutes! 😘) and I completed the shoot as best I could to make Andrea’s vision real life.
The behind the scenes of a shoot is probably far more complicated than anyone really needs to ever know. A LOT of work goes into creating an image that looks fresh and natural almost like I just happened to snap the photo in the moment. I have to give Andrea major props for running the show on this one to put together all of the details. It’s not easy to see all of the moving parts individually and put them together so masterfully. Being able to almost walk on set and “do my thing” was really neat. Andrea really is a visionary. She can see the big picture that others miss sometimes. It’s a gift.
The session felt a lot like a senior session for me and made me think of the 3 lucky seniors I was able to fit in later this year. The addition of professional hair and makeup really can make a senior session pop. It makes it such a special experience far above just showing up for your photo shoot. The added confidence boost it gives my girls (brides, moms, and senior girls alike) is absolutely tangible. I HIGHLY encourage anyone to have their hair and makeup professionally created for any type of shoot but especially for the brides and senior girls. You’ll thank me (and your hair and makeup artist) later!
To everyone working on this one with me, bravo! Another one knocked out of the park. Kenzie, you are one lucky girl to be selected as the model. I hope you love these images. I finally narrowed down a handful to share here. MANY more to come in a few days. They will hit your inbox in a few days!
