Historic Ashland Couple’s Giveaway Leah + Shawn
No matter how full my schedule gets I always want to be able to give back to those of you supporting me. Without you there (yes you!) reading this blog post, my business is nothing. When I was able to book my GOAL for the ENTIRE YEAR within 3 weeks of returning from maternity leave, I knew I wanted to do something to give back. I don’t advertise my business so every single booking I have on my calendar is due to you and your word-of-mouth referrals. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to each and every one of you. I read every single one of your comments on my photos, posts, blogs and I try very hard to read through the likes on every post. You guys are awesome and fill my heart with such happiness on the daily!!! This former mental health professional and mom of 4 is grateful every single day for all that I have in this little business of mine. I can still fit some in for the year and am debating mini sessions for the end of the year or how I want to approach mini sessions and family (and other types of) portrait sessions. Please let me know if mini sessions are important to you and would like me to find a way to fit them in!So, how about this giveaway session?!?!?!?! Um…..how cute are Leah and Shawn?! It was a completely random selection for the winner and when I videoed my very technical (LOL not technical at ALL) selection of the winner Leah messaged me on IG saying, “AHHHHHHH THIS IS A DREAM (insert a lot of emojis) THANK YOU THANK YOU. I’M LITERALLY SHAKING RIGHT NOW OH MY GOODNESS <3 <3 <3” All of the capitals let me know right then that we would get along really well personality-wise. She has as much energy, if not more believe it or not, as I do and we hit it off right away. Huge hug and we started chatting away the moment we met at Historic Ashland on Wednesday.
I walked her and Shawn up the mansion stairs to the beautiful getting ready room at Historic Ashland and introduced her to her session and glam team:

What a team!
We chatted up a storm like we had all known each other for years. It’s such a small world with how we all seemed to be connected or knew someone’s someone of someone along the way. Once Leah had her reveal and both she and Shawn got dressed, we started her amazing shoot. They NAILED it. What naturals in front of the camera. I was even able to capture a truly candid moment of them. While moving my gear, I glanced behind me to see them hugging in the field and rocking back-and-forth just slightly as if they were slow dancing in the field….and I got a quick photo or two. <3Leah and Shawn, I’m so happy for you to win this session. You two have lights so bright you are sure to illuminate the world as you move along in your lives. I hope you stay in touch over the years. Good luck in school and in your futures. You two are going to move mountains! Enjoy the road ahead and don’t stop smiling and being silly. I hope you like this sample of phots from your session.
