A Summer The Barn at Stoneybrooke Vow Renewal | Amanda + Michael | 7-23-2021

Amanda + Michael Wedding Highlights-92.jpg

I think we can all agree that hotel coffee sucks. If you’re a coffee drinker, it’s not the way you want to start your wedding day. Knowing this, Amanda had ordered some coffee to be picked up at WaWa the morning of her wedding for everyone to enjoy.

Amanda thinks of everything.

Like good parents, Amanda’s folks Bob and Rita drove down the street to pick up the coffee on Friday morning for everyone. After waiting a moment, they were greeted by the night manager. He smiled warmly and asked it it was for a wedding. When Bob explained that it was his little girl’s big day, the manager saw the sparkle in Bob’s eye and told him to hang on a minute. He went in the back and got a brown paper bag to put extra supplies in for the party and on it he wrote a heart-felt message to the couple and handed it off to the parents to give to Amanda and Michael.

After chatting for a few minutes, they learned that this man had been up all night working the night shit and had waited over to make sure they got their coffee in the morning. After handing off their coffee, he was heading home not to sleep but to greet his small children who were, no doubt, eagerly awaiting his arrival home.

Over the past 10 years I’ve come to learn that you attract what you put out into the world…especially when it comes to other people. This story that Bob and Rita told me on Friday just before the ceremony was the perfect example of this observation. This is exactly the type of person Amanda and Michael are bound to attract in their lives because it exactly the kind of thing THEY would have done in this man’s shoes.

I’ll admit openly I did a lot of happy crying on their day. I honestly couldn’t hold it together. I just love them so much and am so happy for them. You see, I know their story and I know just what it took them to get to this day and to find each other…and to be parents to their darling little boy, Weston. They have been through hell and high water, and still they give and support and understand. I almost started crying when I told my husband all about them as I was editing these photos. Sometime certain people not only touch your soul but give it a big hug too. That is who Michael and Amanda are to me.

This day was actually a vow renewal since they officially wed last year in a micro ceremony. It was beautiful and so touching. They wrote new vows to each other in the new perspective their lives have now as parents. It was incredibly special to see this day unfold and to see them as parents too.

As they deserve, everything was perfection from the weather to the dance floor. It was an amazing day that I was blessed to experience with them from the hotel to the final private dance after all the guests were excused to the busses. I’ll never forget it.

Mike and Amanda, thank you for being amazing clients and the best of friends. You are the epitome of what it means to have clients who are family and I love you guys so very much. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to meet Weston and I can’t wait to watch him grow up. I’m definitely calling you the next time we go to the Crayola Factory…or maybe just because. Know that I’m always here for you too. I’m just a phone call or long drive away if you ever need to talk parenting or need a big hug. I’ve got you.

Well, after I’ve cried through writing this very long blog I PROMISE I’ve got it together now and I hope you enjoy this sample of highlights from your very special day at The Barn at Stoneybrooke. And, because I know how hard it is to wait, there will be a surprise in your inbox later today so don’t forget to check!
