Racing the rain in Elizabethtown, PA | Caroline + Luke Engaged
Sometimes there is rain in the forecast, and we go for it anyway. This time of year, in mid-November can be tough. Rescheduling just means higher chances for colder and colder temps. It’s a rainy season though. And, no one want to have their session in the rain. Even though I know we could create magic in the rain together….I don’t really want to be out in the rain either.
So, what options do you have when there is rain in the forecast? Well, luckily my shooting days are mostly full work days…which means I don’t really schedule much on those days. So, if there are forecasted breaks in the rain, we can always try to fit your session into another time of the day if it works for everyone. Luckily, this was an option for Caroline and Luke. We had been messaging the day before about what we were all open to and ultimately, Caroline said, they would be there whenever I thought it best and put her trust in me.
It was a lovely session. They brought Luke’s adorable Doodle pup, Duke (Luke and Duke…how cute is that?!?!?) They even brought champagne to pop and a blanket to sit on. The rain held off and you would never know how ominous the weather was for their session. We ended up having a terrible storm here later that day and I was so glad we were all able to be flexible.
These two cuties are about as laid back as they come, super stylish and all-in-all super human beings. Caroline has the best laugh and the sweetest spirit. And, watching Luke with Duke me see him as a wonderful dad one day. They will be married next October at Stock’s Manor in Mechanicsburg, PA. I already got to meet both of their moms who came to help with Duke and I can’t wait to meet the rest of the crew! If ya’ll are anything like Caroline and Luke, we are going to have a fabulously fun day.
Caroline and Luke, it was AMAZING to finally meet you two in person. You were just as splendid as I thought you would be….if not even more so. Thank you for your incredible flexibility with your session time, the craziness of the location and bringing Duke for me to meet. I loved everything about your shoot and am obsessed with your photos. I hope you are too! And, because I know how hard it is to wait, there will be something in your inbox you’ll want to check out this morning! XO - Megan
