Summer Rain Wedding at The Barn at Stoneybrooke | Kelsey + Craig | 7-1-2021

The Barn at Stoneybrooke_Kelsey+Craig712021_0186.jpg

I’ve been challenged by some for “best hugger ever.” Some have come close. Many have done well. Craig — he wins every time. When I spotted him in the pristine lower level getting ready room at The Barn at Stoneybrooke on Saturday, I immediately ran over for a “Craig hug.” He lifted me off the ground like I weighed nothing and gave me the biggest bear hug you can imagine. When he set me down he revealed the biggest grin. It was wedding day. This was the day he would finally call Kelsey…his wife.

It’s funny. Everyone from the bridesmaids, sisters, parents and groomsmen talked about the big crush Kelsey had on Craig when they first met at work so many years ago but as a person late to the game in their relationship, I would have called it the other way. If you could see the way Craig looks at her with this loving yet still playful twinkle in his eye you might think the same. He is so smitten with Kelsey that when he just catches a glimpse of her from across the room his whole face lights up with delight. These two are quite the pair.

For those lucky enough to be a part of their lives, never will a glass be empty or a hug be wanting. They are both the life of the party and ready to help in a moments notice. They always have other’s well-being at heart.

They certainly did last year when they made the tough decision to postpone their big day for this year due to COVID concerns. As much as they really wanted to go through with it anyway, they couldn’t look past the concerns of those they love. So, they waited another year for their dream wedding.

When I was going through their engagement photos to post an “its wedding day” picture, I realized it had been a full 2 years since I had seen them last. TWO YEARS!!! But seeing them on Saturday was like cookies and cream. We didn’t skip a beat. I adore these two!

I can’t say the day went off without a hitch. The weather cleared in the forecast and the decision was made to set the chairs outside for their ceremony. As we finished up the bridal party photos, the skies started to darken. Being ahead of schedule, we went inside to wait for family to arrive for family photos just as the storm blew in.

It mostly cleared, chairs were dried…twice! And, as they say, the show must go on! They married outside in a light rain. It was unique and most definitely beautiful. They were lucky to have such a rockstar team of vendors to work together to make it all happen. Be sure to read through the list of very talented vendors at the end of the photos. They deserve so much credit for making Kelsey and Craig’s dream day a reality.

Kelsey and Craig, it’s going to be weird to not see your names on my list of upcoming weddings anymore! It almost feels like I have to say goodbye to you but there’s always social media…and family sessions. ;-) I hope you love this little sample of photos telling the story of your fun-filled wedding day. And, because I know how hard it is to wait for more, there will be a surprise in your inbox later today. So, when you have a chance during your honeymoon fun, go check it out!
