Summer-like Fall Engagement Session at Fort Hunter Mansion | Kathryn + Brian

Kathryn + Brian Engaged-40.jpg

As the professionals, most of us photographers take every step possible to make for the best-case scenario for your photos to turn out beautifully. We schedule for the best light. We check and re-check our equipment. We bring backup equipment. We send session guides and watch the weather. We want your photos to come out amazingly just as much as you do.

But even I can deny that sometimes the “epic factor” comes down to sheer luck.

We got lucky for this one. It was almost 80 degrees outside for this mid-November engagement session at Fort Hunter Mansion and Park. They decided to wear the outfits they had originally planned on, sweaters and all to go with the fall foliage (a good call I might add). I must admit I was wearing a sundress with bare toes…I couldn’t help myself.

Not only did we have warm temperatures but the full sunshine of this day cut us a break right at the end. Seeing that the sun was about to hit some low-lying clouds just before it set, I had Kathryn and Brian (carefully) make their way out to a little peninsula in the Susquehanna River for a set of stunning portraits that I have been dying over on my computer screen.

Kathryn and Brian chose this date because it was their SEVEN YEAR dating anniversary. We first met IN PERSON, it seems, ages ago….before COVID changed the way we do almost everything. We sat down together and chatted about their future wedding at Harmony Hall in Middletown, PA. I’m so glad they booked with me. They are the sweetest. From their meeting to their engagement session and seven years into dating they never stop cuddling and it’s adorable.

Kathryn and Brian, I love you two to pieces and am so excited for your wedding day. Even though I know you are already technically married, it’s going to be incredibly special to do it all with your family and friends. I can’t wait to meet everyone. I hope you love this sample of my favorites from your summer-like fall engagement session last week. And, because I know how hard it is to wait, there are some surprises in your inbox RIGHT NOW if you haven’t already seen!!! XO - Megan
