A Dusty Blue and Gold Wedding at The Manor at Juniata Valley Winery | Courtney + Dan | May 21, 2022
Can we make room on the desert table for a surprise for Courtney?
Angela, Courtney’s mom kindly asked their planner, Kirsten from Simply Elegant Affairs….It’s chocolate chip cookies! Kirsten, of course, made note of the addition while Angela turned smiling to me. She explained that on Courtney’s first day of Kindergarten she made chocolate chip cookies for her. Upon dropping her off, Courtney asked her mom if she would make them on her first day of college too…which she did. The cookies were a surprise detail that added such a beautiful sentimental note. Now I know where Courtney got her knack for planning!
Details were keenly prepared and attended to on this day…a day Courtney had been dreaming of since she was just a little girl.
The day was saturated in overwhelming joy and happiness. Tears flowed freely all day and it was a humbling experience to witness and capture all of it for Courtney and Dan throughout their fairytale wedding day at The Manor at Juniata Valley Winery in Mifflin, PA.
For all their combined accomplishments, success and accolades, they are also some of the most joyful people I have ever met. Their smiles and unrestrained laughter throughout the day, were so much fun to soak in and resonate with. It is impossible to not be happy when you are near them together. It’s no wonder they have so many fantastic people in their lives already.
Courtney and Dan decided on a traditional wedding day timeline. They wanted the first time they saw each other on their wedding day to be at the end of the aisle. It was a great choice as this experience squeezed every once of emotion from them and wrapped us all up in their joy during that moment when Courtney turned the corner and Dan’s breath was taken away with the sight of his beautiful bride.
The twist? They did private vows together before the ceremony without seeing each other. This was a challenging feat to accomplish — getting them together without seeing the other — another in a long line of special touches, just for them, through out the day. I think you will agree when you see the photos below, it was so very special.
An amazing day with amazing people and amazing vendors from start to finish. It was an honor to be a part of this day.
Courtney and Dan, wow. Just WOW. I was in awe of you two all day long. From the intricate detailed planning to the smiles and laughter throughout the entire day….I could photograph your day…and you!…over and over again. THANK YOU for choosing me to be the one to get to document it all. I hope you love this little sample of photos from your gorgeous wedding day. And, because I know how hard it is to wait for more, there will be a surprise in your inbox later today to entertain you on your honeymoon so don’t forget to check!
