A Beautiful Spring Wedding at The Barn at Stoneybrooke | Carly + Sam | May 29, 2022
On memorial day weekend, amidst the sales and time off from work, sacrifice is typically the underscoring theme of many people’s weekends. While some may think a wedding would be the one exception to this tradition, this day was different. While many American traditions were honored on this day, it was not lost on Carly and Sam the sacrifices that were made by each of their parents to get them to the alter this day. Sam, honoring the commitment his parents undertook adopting him all those years ago. — Taking a chance on him and loving him through and through as one of their own. Carly, who’s parents immigrated to the United States to give her the freedoms many of us take for granted. As Carly stood, about to be married to a man she had freely chosen to be her husband, she honored the sacrifices her parents made to allow that choice.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd…I was no exception.
6 years ago, Sam officially proposed to Carly and here they stood on this day, finally saying the words that made legal what they already knew in their hearts.
Two humans with the biggest hearts that you can imagine. Hearts full of love and caring for their fellow humans. Hearts full of tradition and new beginnings at the same time. Hearts as light and fun as they come. They are the perfect match…true love that can only be found when two hearts hear each others song like the drumming of their own footsteps. A path, started years ago, that would lead forward together from the moment they met to the end of time.
This day was only the official celebration of that love.
Carly’s grandmother honored this day and their marriage choice by adorning her with the necklace her late husband gave to her when she herself was only 15 years old. This was the first time she had taken it off in all those years. It was a real honor to photograph the transition of such a timeless piece.
The day was truly amazing from start to finish with an exceptional vendor line-up. I loved meeting everyone on Carly and Sam’s best day EVER.
Carly and Sam, you know, there are some weddings where, as much as I love my couple, it is destined that it will probably be the last time I see them when I say good bye on their wedding night. Schedules get busy and life moves on. I know that’s not the case with you two. As long as you are willing, I will find some way to see you two again no matter what it takes! I feel as though a family trip to NYC is definitely in the works for the Hoffer family and we are always here if you ever need a trip to the country. I cannot wait to see you two again and to introduce my people to you. I love you two so much! I hope you love this little sample of highlights telling the story of your beautiful wedding day this past weekend. And, because I know how hard it is to wait to start sharing, there will be a surprise in your inbox later today. So, don’t forget to check!
