A Lancaster County Central Park Engagement Session | Alyssa + Jonathan 12.14.19
They walked up to my table at The Barn at Stoneybrooke’s annual open house. I recognized them instantly from social media though I had never met them in person before. I exclaimed, “Alyssa and Jon?!?!?! Oh, my goodness! It’s SO nice to meet you!” Alyssa covered her face with her hands and said in a high-pitched, apologetic voice, “I am so sorry I didn’t get back to you. I’m the worst!” I laughed out loud and brushed off her apology as I ran around the table to hug them. The rest is history pretty much. We got along right away at the open house and it wasn’t long after that I was announcing them as part of the #meganhofferfamily.
When we looked at the weather report for their engagement session Saturday, it wasn’t looking ideal. Rain was in the forecast. Ugh! Weather can be the bane of my existence at times. Alyssa was planning her hair and makeup trial for the morning of their engagement session so we decided to just go for it and hope for the best….and that’s what we got. The BEST. We got drippy rain perfect for umbrella shots which cleared soon after we started to have a few cloudy shots. Then the SUN came out for the glowiest, most amazing light EVER. Alyssa, Jon and I laughed through the entire session. I truly had RIDICULOUS fun with them. I’m certain you can see for yourself below.
Alyssa and Jonathan will be married in May 2020 at The Barn at Stoneybrooke and I can’t wait to meet all of their friends and family. If they are anything like them, we are going to have one heck of a fun day!
Alyssa and Jon, I am SO glad you came to that open house. It really feels like destiny has been at play since I received your first email. From the crazy traffic that kept us from meeting initially to the clearing rain and beautiful weather I’m certain it all had a purpose. I am so honored to be your wedding photographer.
