Tomlinson Family Lancaster Lifestyle Session

5 ½ years they waited. 2,074 days they waited in faith and love for little Theo. As Catholics, they decided to let God decide. No medicine. No procedures. They waited in faith….I met Juliana as a fellow photographer. I was looking for MY maternity photographer. I searched and searched and watched for consistency and quality. It was also important to me that my photographer at least have been pregnant before. Juliana had it all plus she was also pregnant at the time and due just a few weeks ahead of me! I finally decided to trust Juliana with my final and only couple’s maternity shoot for Marc and I and I was so happy with her work. So, when she asked me to take lifestyle photos of her new family I was so honored. Knowing everything they had been through for this moment in time, I put everything I had into their home session.

Theo was amazing. He followed my lens like the tiniest little model ever. His nursery was so superbly decorated, I gasped upon entering. He truly is a gift from God and I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to have photographed him.

When Theo got hungry towards the end of our session, I asked Juliana if she would like me to take photos of her nursing. She was so happy. She explained that while considering adoption at one point, the one hesitation she had was that she wouldn’t be able to nurse. It is a very special bond between mother and child. Nursing my 4th child, I totally understood. And, while I have nothing against formula (I was fed formula myself!) I can’t deny the special bond nursing creates between mother and child. I did not include those photos here for privacy sake but I can tell you that witnessing Juliana feed her child with her heart so open, my eyes teared up like they have never before while shooting. I could feel it. I could feel the emotion between mother and son. There is nothing like it. I am not a newborn photographer. I am not even a lifestyle photographer. But, wow, this session touched my heart in a very special way.

Juliana and Greg, thank you for inviting me into your beautiful home and allowing me to capture this incredibly special moment in your lives. I am so in awe of your faith and love. I wish you all the best and I can’t wait to get you know you even better over the years. Please enjoy a few of my favorites from your session. Your full gallery will soon follow.

XO - Megan
