Historic Ashland Timeless Styled Winter Wedding

The latch clicked. I swung open the door and stepped inside…and smiled. It was from my dreams. Timeless and bright. Classic and white. Every detail perfected down to the fixtures and décor. The color scheme was crisp and clean. The light inviting. From somewhere upstairs there was laughter. I followed it. My hand grazed the original, polished wood up the staircase. The room I entered was full of people. The team was assembled. The warmth was palpable. I could even smell the curling iron warming up. Smiles everywhere.

Ellie’s makeup was almost done and well ahead of schedule. She looked STUNNING. Angel was lounged back coolly and comfortably in one of the five, white salon chairs playing on his phone. I assume he was pretending to ignore the female chatter that surrounded him. What a team. Hugs all around and introductions preceded conversation that felt like we all had known each other for years and never ended all afternoon.

This particular styled shoot was sparked by an idea from Jena of Tousled Beauty. She was the backbone behind it all. It was really neat to watch it all come together and give suggestions only when asked. She said, “There is this new wedding venue in Wrightsville, PA called Historic Ashland….” And, “I am loving the work coming from Splints and Daisies lately….” I was excited to suggest Andrea of Shades of Blush Studios for makeup. Leah of Historic Ashland contacted POSH Bridal for a dress and jewelry who have been so easy to work with. When it is meant to be….it is. And, it WAS….spectacular! Visions from so many different creatives were put together so seamlessly. When all of the pieces of the puzzle fit, magic happens.

In the wedding industry attention to detail is a must. Each and every vendor must rely on the others to make a wedding day a success. As the photographer, I 100% rely on everyone I work with to create the beauty I capture and I have so much respect for each person involved down to the wait staff whose job it is to be invisible. I rely on them the same as they rely on me to capture their creations in the most flattering way possible. I don’t take that lightly. No matter how beautiful the light, how correctly I set my camera, pose the couple, and frame the shot, the photo wouldn’t be what it is without all of the hard work of the other vendors.

Until I started in wedding photography, I had no idea how many hours and how much effort was involved behind the scenes of a wedding day. Even as the bride, I had no idea. The more involved I become and the more I learn about all of the jobs involved in creating a wedding day event the more I LOVE it and I hope you can see that in my work. That is the reason I always focus on each of the vendor’s work at some point throughout the day, do my very best to tag on social media, and ALWAYS send the final gallery to the vendors when it is ready. Without them….there is no me.

So, to all the wedding VENDORS. I applaud you and I thank you. XOXOXO

To Tousled Beauty, Historic Ashland, Shades of Blush Studios, Splints and Daisies, POSH Bridal, Ellie and Angel: here is a small sample of the photos we created on Wednesday. You were all rock stars. Thank you for your help during the shoot. I can’t wait to work with each of you again. You will all receive the final gallery soon!

All the hearts for each you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
