Sara and John had the outdoor spring wedding of their dreams at Springfield Manor in Thurmont, Maryland, on Saturday.

Ahhhhh! Spring has arrived, and wedding season is here. Kim and Walter’s wedding at Historic Ashland was the perfect way to celebrate this joyful time.

We had a wonderful time downtown in State College, in their formal outfits. Old Main provided the perfect backdrop. And the weather? Oh my word. It was perfection!

Next stop was the creamery—or so we thought…

These Florida residents traveled north to Pennsylvania for their intimate winter wedding on Valentine’s Day, the day we celebrate love above all others.

We dodged shoppers, Erin and Michael accepted many congratulations, and we played in the beautiful, green atmosphere of Otts Exotic Plants.

I had the pleasure of covering four hours of this beautiful day: their ceremony, formal photos of the family and wedding party, husband-and-wife portraits, and the reception’s formal events. I even managed to capture some of the party before heading home to batten down the hatches with my family.

With five grandchildren under five, it took calm, positive attitudes from everyone to get those smiles and walk away with all the requested photos. But we did it!

It was fun to see them walk into the church to be married hand in hand.

What better way to bring their two families together than under the warm embrace of Christmas?

With such a stunning location for the proposal, Brianna knew it would also be their engagement session spot even before she contacted me to schedule it.

I snapped the final photo as the skies opened up and it started pouring.

It’s difficult to put into words the light and joy that shone from Lisa and Derrick during their engagement shoot.

Emma said, “I’m really happy with the decision to have the ceremony inside. It’s one of the many reasons we booked at Stoneybrooke—it has such a great Plan B!” It was stunning.

Alison knew the forecast wasn’t promising and was ready for a tent ceremony, but she hoped the weather would clear all morning.

So many times, we wait and wait for everything to be just right, but the truth is, we create our own “perfect” through our attitudes and perspectives.

The first time I photographed the Hunt family was in 2017 during a series of fall mini sessions I offered.

We definitely made the most of our time at the National Park. The light danced across the sky, illuminating everything like fireworks wherever we went.

Mel and Tom, my favorite part of your session was when Melanie instantly agreed to lie down in the grass, and how Tom quickly took off his jacket to use as a blanket so Melanie wouldn’t get grass clippings in her hair.
