A Boy Blue Spring Maternity Session | Lacey + Nate

Cruz Maternity-23.jpg

We met in Starbucks. She was planning her wedding at The Barn at Stoneybrooke. We chatted about her plans and I talked about the wedding photography process over my HUGE belly. I was ready to have my daughter any day. She told me that her fiancé, Nate, wasn’t super into pictures but I probably wouldn’t be able to tell, “He is such a great guy,” Lacey beamed. I remember her telling me, “Well, you’ve photographed hundreds of weddings….” And me thinking, “I really like her. She has such a kind expression…a true beauty from the inside out.”

Now, it was her turn to be the one with the huge belly. Watching Lacey and Nate go from their engagement session, to their wedding day to their first pregnancy has been a true privilege. My initial assessment of Lacey’s kind expression and beautiful soul was spot on. Seeing the love growing between them is touching and gives me such hope for the future of our world amid uncertain, tumultuous times.

I must admit, I was a little nervous we might not have been able to fit in their session before Logan was born with quarantine dragging on and on but we were patient and it was worth it. The session was as magical as the life growing inside Lacey’s belly. We had sun and warmth and so much laughter together. Together. It was amazing to be together. I have missed this so much.

Lacey and Nate, thank you for your patience with your session and your flexibility to go for it as soon as we could in a safe area. It has been an honor to capture your love over the years. I am SO excited to meet little LogiBear! I hope you love your photos and I cannot wait for your first family session!!! XO - Megan
