A Fall Engagement with a Kiss of Sun at King’s Gap | Kelley + Sam | November 6, 2022
Kelley and Sam chose King’s Gap as their engagement session location knowing I had never shot there before and they had never seen the mansion in person before.
I’d say it was a good call.
I did scout it ahead of time when they mentioned they were considering it but my cell phone photos with my kids were not the stuff of their dream shoot. They chose based off what they could see in the cell phone photos…and my recommendation based on what I knew they were looking for in a location:
Not into cityscapes but Sam likes the idea of architecture in some of the photos. Outdoorsy but not open field…more woodsy. I’ll be honest everyone, this was a tough one and this description was nothing like anything I had shot west of the susquehanna before.
The moment I got out of the car, the first time I pulled up to the location, I fell in love with it and crossed my fingers that they would choose it.
Obviously, I lucked out and….I think they did too. The sun gently kissed the grounds and wrapped them in a warm November breeze like nothing I’ve ever seen before after daylight savings. This is a day I will remember fondly for a very long time.
Kelley and Sam will be married at Linwood Estate in October 2023 and I cannot wait to meet everyone I’ve heard so much about. If they are anything like these two, we are going to have an amazing day!
Kelley and Sam, thank you for trusting me with this very important piece of your wedding puzzle. I had a blast with you two and I can’t wait to see you and photograph you again in less than a year!!! I hope you love this little sample of photos from your King’s Gap engagement session on Sunday. And, because I know how hard it is to wait, there will be a surprise in your inbox later today. So, don’t forget to check!
