Mauch Chunk Lake Engagement Session | Alyssa + Brian

Alyssa + Brian Engaged-55.jpg

I’m not usually one to harp on a location. My clients are the focus of my photos. BUT, when the location is as spectacular as the one Alyssa and Brian chose PLUS has sentimental value….I’ll drive 2+ hours to get there without batting an eye.

Alyssa and Brian have lived their whole lives in the Jim Thorpe area only a town apart and it is obvious in the way they lovingly talk about the town and countryside how much pride they have in it. They are getting married only a few miles from their homes at Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe so it was only fitting to have their engagement session in town as well. I assumed the draw of staying in their hometown area was simply the comfortability factor but when I drove through the highway tunnel through the mountain just on the outskirts of town, emerging on the other side was like entering another world. A world of mountainous spender. My arms immediately perked up with goosebumps as I took in the scale of the high peaks and deep valleys visible from the road. It was breathtaking.

I met Brian at their reception venue, Penn’s Peak, for a quick tour (because, why not?!?!?) and followed him to the location, Mauch Chunk Lake Park, which basically means Bear Mountain (thanks for educating me Alyssa!), where we met Alyssa. I may not have been able to find this particular parking area on my own so I was grateful for the extra help. Everything about this location was perfection…including the weather and light we had to work with. I’m going to let the photos speak for themselves….I’m totally gaga over them.

Alyssa and Brian, it was fantastic meeting you in person. You are both amazing individuals with the biggest hearts and so much love for each other. You are the perfect match for each other and I can’t wait to be there with you as you become husband and wife next Summer. It is going to be SUCH a fun day! I hope you LOVE this sample of photos from your gorgeous lakeside engagement session in your beautiful town. And, because I know how hard it is to wait, there are some surprises in your inbox RIGHT NOW so go check! XO - Megan
