A Cathedral Wedding Ceremony Followed by a Fall Reception at Historic Ashland | Abigail + Walter 10.17.20

Abigail + Walter Historic Ashland Wedding-182.jpg

“You can’t make this stuff up people!” A recurring statement from Abigail throughout their Historic Ashland wedding day and the days, weeks and months preceding the day. Abbie posted jokingly on her pages the day before the wedding that the theme of this wedding had been, “Come hell or high water.” It couldn’t have been more fitting. The amount of hurtles that presented themselves and were conquered are too many to list here. A few of the big ones were: COVID (duh), Abbie cutting her forehead open days before leaving a “Harry Potter” scar, Walter’s mom breaking her hip the day before, unexpected traffic on the way to the ceremony making the limo 20 minutes late. The list really could go on and on. What truly stood out was the poise everyone maintained amidst the mayhem…the realization that, at the end of the day, this marriage would happen and there would be joy and celebration no matter what. From the wedding party to each and every vendor involved, everyone pulled together to not only bring the vision of this day to life but to make it truly shine and stand out.

A quote I love to read is: “Nothing worth having comes easy.” Marriage is a big one included in this. This wedding day was a testament to that fact and it was incredible to watch Abigail and Walter’s parents lead by example….Troy inviting Beth up for his speech, Anne broken hip and all enjoying every part of the day with a beautiful smile. Such lovely families.

You know, we plan the details. We take every step of planning and preparedness possible. And, when it all goes out the window, we make magic happen anyway, wrap it in love and tie it up with a bow of gratitude on top. This is life. When you have finished looking through the photos from this absolutely gorgeous day, don’t forget to read through the list of vendors at the end. WHAT. A. TEAM.

Abigail and Walter, it has been a wild ride getting you to this day in your lives. YOU DID IT!!!! Your day was superbly beautiful and I’m oh so happy with your photos. Give Hank a big hug for me and enjoy this sample of my favorites from your timeless wedding at Historic Ashland. I hope you love them as much as I do. And, because I know how hard it is to wait, there is a surprise in your inbox RIGHT NOW, so go check!
