The Stem’s End Styled Shoot | Coatesville, PA 11.18.19

I got a message from The Stem’s End over the weekend: “I have this crazy idea to do a fun design shoot with this arch I made today. Would you have any interest in shooting it for me? I also have a dress made out of ferns and natural elements that would make a fun artsy shoot.”Ummmmmmm, for you Gail? YES!

I literally had 45 minutes from parking in the driveway until pulling away to shoot it for Gail but it was SO worth the hour drive one way. Gail and her model, Rachel, were ready to roll right away and we worked with the crazy sun doing crazy things. It was literally drizzling when we started and just as Gail got Rachel in position, the SUN came out in full force! A little wiggling here and there and I MAY have asked her to adjust the arch about 5,000 time with the changing light but it was all worth it.It was the first styled shoot technically for The Stem’s End and man did she blow it out of the water in a short amount of time. My first styled shoot was asking a friend and her boyfriend to do a shoot with me and I had Andrea with Shades of Blush Studio do her hair and makeup! I think I bought some flowers from Giant too! And, it was awesome….but nothing like this! The first dress you will see here was designed by Gail herself and when we got Rachel out into the field it was like she was rooted there becoming part of the Earth herself. I would love to know what you think when you look at those photos. Please leave a comment!

For the second set, Rachel dawned Gail’s mother’s actual wedding gown.  The colors…the arch….I was speechless shooting it…Okay I lie…I’m never speechless! 🤣🤣🤣 But it was amazing!!!! Well done Gail!!!! I hope to do it again in the future!

If you’re wondering reading this, a styled shoot is simply a collaboration of talents to make a shoot come together. I like to think of it as how artistic people play. In the wedding industry we make our client’s visions come to life. For a styled shoot, we bring our own vision to life. It’s fun! Whether it is to build our portfolios, to help a friend in the industry or just for sheer fun this is what we do with our talents when we aren’t “working.” Enjoy!

Gail!!!! Thank you for thinking of me for this. I’m so honored to be the photographer for your first styled shoot. I already can’t wait for the next one. Keep dreaming. You are one seriously talented woman. I hope you love this sample of photos we created together. Many more to come but because I know how hard it is to wait for them ALL, there are some surprises in your inbox RIGHT NOW so go check! XO - Megan
