A First Week of Autumn Wedding at Historic Ashland | Courtney + Ian 9.28.19

It was autumn at Historic Ashland. It was supposed to be cool. It wasn’t supposed to be humid. The highway wasn’t supposed to be closed.

Well, it was hot. It was humid. The highway was closed. Did Courtney or Ian get upset about it. Nope! They knew the most important thing on their wedding day was that at the end, they would be husband and wife. Plus, everything stayed pretty much on schedule even with the highway closure thanks to the amazing coordination and pre-planning by Elysian Events Co.

They got to have wedding portraits in a sunflower field and they had the coolest DJ ever. He even got ON the dance floor to help the guests with the moves to a song or two. It has been ages since I’ve seen that! It was a great day! The venue was picture perfect with incredibly professional staff. The catering was spot on with service you rarely see. The moment the opening speech was made and the prayer said, the catering staff entered the reception hall in a swarm of smiles with large servers of plated meals on their shoulders. The entire room was served together in less than 2 minutes flat. Astounding.

Courtney and Ian, from a freezing cold engagement session literally in the snow and mud to your sauna of a wedding day, you had the greatest span of weather I have ever had for a couple between their engagement session to their wedding day…and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Mowgli is a lucky pup to have you two as his pup parents. I love that you had a huge canvas of him made for your wedding day so that he would be represented. What a cutie! I’m excited to watch your lives grow from this wonderful day. The mentality you had on your wedding day is what will make you and your marriage successful in this crazy thing we call life. At the end of the day, it’s being together that matters more than the details. Details are great, don’t get me wrong! But your marriage is what is most important. Cherish it and celebrate it. I hope you enjoy this sample of photos from your amazing wedding day. And, because I know how hard it is to wait, there is a surprise in your inbox RIGHT NOW! Enjoy! XO - Megan
