Amanda + Michael’s West Chester, PA Engagement Session

We had a last-minute change of location for Amanda and Michael’s engagement session. They are in the middle of home renovations, the start of the school year for Amanda and about a million other things in addition to planning their wedding day so it was up to Michael to scout and suggest locations closer to their home. Well, he will be happy to tell you that he knocked it out of the park! We ended up in a stunning park in West Chester, PA. I, as a rule, am always ridiculously early so I was surprised and impressed to find that when I texted Amanda to let her know I arrived 30 minutes early that they were already there! I love early people. LOVE THEM. I got to meet their adorable pup Callie who was generously escorted by her grandPUPparents. We had a blast! Michael’s humor kept us laughing the entire time but what really struck me was that as we were walking past a man with his daughter and dog trying to take a selfie along the side of the trail, Michael took the time to stop, walk over and get a nice photo for them from a few steps back. What a stand-up guy!

As for the session itself, the walking trails along the tree line in conjunction with the hilltop overlook (that I barely made it up….they are in WAY better shape than me 😂) at this park made it a perfect location to chase the sunset. We were able have that gorgeous golden hour glow for the entire session as we worked our way from the stream level all the way to the tippy top of the hillside overlooking the scenic Pennsylvania landscape. Amanda and Michael love to travel the world and especially to hike the national parks here in the USA. Michael even proposed to Amanda at the Pinnacle overlook! As they reached the overlook on that day, he saw a woman close by and offered to take a photo for her much like the man earlier in this story. No one suspected when he asked the same woman if she would mind taking one of himself and Amanda that he would drop down on one knee and ask the girl of his dreams to marry him. That saint of a woman had no idea it was coming and even managed to get a video for them. What a keep sake!

It’s obvious in the photos that they killed it for their session. Amanda looked incredible in not just one but two WOW dresses. They danced, they laughed and they enjoyed playing along as we documented this chapter in their story.

Amanda and Michael, wow. Just wow. I’m still in awe of your Lulu’s dresses (Amanda….Michael you looked super handsome too!) and adventurous spirits. I am inspired by your philosophies on life and a bit envious of your travels (You can absolutely pack me in your suit case for any of your trips! I’ll bring my camera!). I’m so excited to meet the rest of your family and friends at your June 2020 Wedding at The Barn at Stoneybrooke. You really did book the dream team and we can’t wait to serve you on your best day ever! I hope you enjoy this sample of my favorites from your session on Sunday. And, because I know how hard it is to wait, there are some surprises in your inbox RIGHT NOW, so go check! XO - Megan
