Pease + Lastowski Summer Historic Shady Lane Wedding
When her dad twirled her around, Laura’s perfectly bustled Madison James wedding dress swirled around her like Cinderella at the ball. Her beautiful smile lit up the room as her dad gazed at her smiling with, what I assumed were, memories from the childhood of his only little girl dancing in his head.
When the dance was done, Ben took the microphone and cleared his throat. I knew his mother, Barbara, had passed away so I think I was expecting a heartfelt speech about how much he missed her on this day or something to that effect. So, I was taken off guard when he took the moment to thank his new step-mom, Carrie, for accepting him as her own son and to ask for her hand in the mother-son dance. Well, I lost it (along with most everyone else in the room).
I almost always shed a tear or two at some point on almost every wedding I photograph but this was different. I had tears just streaming down my cheeks as I hid behind my camera snapping away.
Ben only broke from his smile for a moment but Carrie was there to comfort him and they had a splendid dance together. I can’t imagine the emotion that Ben was feeling in that moment but it just goes to show what kind of a guy he is…always giving and always thinking of others. Ben's mom would be so proud. He is the perfect match for his lovely Laura who, also, always has other’s needs at the top of her priority list.
Ben and Laura went to every effort to ensure their guests had the time of their lives at their Historic Shady Lane wedding. Ben is chivalrous to his core and Laura is sweet and giving to her core but they both also LOVE to have FUN! What a dynamite couple! I feel so blessed to know them. Their guests were pampered from the moment they arrived until the end of the night. Ben and Laura thought of everything. The family-style food was prepared to perfection by Mountain Laurel Catering. There was an open bar from Good Spirits Lancaster and caricature drawing by Dylan Draws Stuff. The florals were spectacular from Blossom Bliss, extra special decorations by Treasured Events, live ceremony music by Vivace Live, delectable desserts by Room for Dessert. And, it was all coordinated perfectly by Simply Events.
